Alberta's oil sands are considered one of the largest oil deposits in the world with over 200 billion barrels of recoverable oil. BDR has completed several SAGD projects in the Fort McMurray area of Alberta.

These projects include pilot facilities for several 10,000 bpd facilities, as well as wellpads and pipelines for the main facilities.

Since 2004 the estimated amount spent on construction and commissioning of facilities in the tar sands is estimated to be $80 billion. With the increasing growth in the oil sands industry, BDR is positioned to aide in the development of the tar sands in Northern Alberta.
